I went to the GSSport site and see there is now a new GB-1000 unit that has an integrated speed/cadence sensor.  Is this compatible with the GB-580?
I doubt it, the 580 uses ANT+ and the 1000 uses "2.4 GHz".
There are other ANT+ sensors that should work.

Hello,
While on a ride over the weekend, my speed sensor for my GB-580 separated and I lost the sensor.  Somehow the casing litterally separated after going over an expansion joint of a bridge.
Anyway, I went to the GSSport site and see there is now a new GB-1000 unit that has an integrated speed/cadence sensor.  Is this compatible with the GB-580?  If so, is it available for purchase and at what price?  I prefer having an integrated sensor anyway so when riding on a stationary trainer I can view speed/distance data.
Also, I have been having issues lately with my HR strap intermittently dropping signal and about 15-30 seconds later it returns. Not sure if it's a fit issue or what.  I recently replaced the battery thinking that may have been the problem, but it was not resolved with a fresh battery.

http://www.gs-sport.com/pro_dl.php?en_product_id=10&en_product_cnt_id=33

Release note :

1. Altitude and auto calibration functions have been fully reviewed, redesigned and strengthened.

2. ANT+ connection is reinforced.

3. Other improvements such as GPS speed, heart rate related functions and miscellaneous.

---
Unmentioned in the release notes is that the device records temperature data.

Note: This version changes the internal format and it is not compatible with TGG 1.7.5. If more than one lap, laps are incorrectly imported.

The release requires an updated version of the SportTracks plugin, available here: https://code.google.com/p/globalsat-sporttracks-plugin/

I also had issues with the V2.0 201402241 firmware. I upload a KML file to the device and it upload fine but when I went to Activity > Activity Info > Training Info and selected the uploaded KML then tried to Track Back > Forward.  It just showed "Start" for a while (15 minutes while optimizing the file I guess) and then went back to the activity details screen but none of the buttons responded. The only way to get out of there was to turn off the unit and turn it on again. In other words Forward navigation does not work. Did not try Backward navigation.

I downgraded back to firmware V2.0 1305232.

By default, some new Android devices have the Development settings hidden, which is where the Mock Locations setting is at. Without enabling Mock Locations, you can't successfully use the GPSInfo for Android app to use your BT-368, BT-359, BT-821 or any other GlobalSat Bluetooth GPS with an Android Tablet or Smartphone.

Here's a video that shows you how to display/enable Developer settings on Android devices: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XaiWw7XmsuU

Once enabled, you can find the Mock Locations settings within that menu.

Then you can continue to follow the steps in our Android Bluetooth Setup Guide: http://www.usglobalsat.com/downloads/bt_gpsinfo_android_guide.pdf

Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks.

Hello all, and Globalsat,

I did update the GB580p and it works fine except the upload from device configuration to the GB580p. Downloading OK, uploading go's wrong.
I have to devices and both are not uploading the device configuration data fields. the version before works!!!
I did try TGPro 1.6 and 1.7.5. The fault is the FW.

Regards,

Albert

The prices you seeing are for UPS International Shipping, which can be very costly. If you would like to use USPS for a lower cost, then it's best that you email us directly to place the order.

Please send an email to sales@usglobalsat.com and request to purchase a GB-580 Bike Mount (11-GB580-001A). Our sales team will be able to help you with your request. Feel free to include your shipping address, so they can provide an accurate shipping quote.

I'm from Portugal and have been trying to buy this for a year with several emails and sadly no answer from you.  :(
Now that I finally manage to find how to buy another bike mount it asks for this amounts fo shipping?! Really?!  :o
UPS Worldwide Express $128.59 (USD)
 UPS Worldwide Expedited $110.72 (USD)
 UPS Express Saver $124.21 (USD)

Please tell me that there is another way of shipping this 10$ part to Portugal for a fair shipping price!

Hi,
Thanks for having released the specs.
I have noticed a typo :

Longitude: dddmmmmm, E/W indicator: E: if this field >0, W: if this field >0
should be :
Longitude: dddmmmmm, E/W indicator: E: if this field >0, W: if this field <0

Also, on the DG-200 documentation, I think there is an error in paragraph "2.7 get SW version", because the parameter is "G-Mouse on/off".
