Hello DEPOM,

Have you installed the USB driver? If so, does the GB-580 show up in your Device Manager under Ports as "STM Virtual COM Port(COMX)"? Drivers can be found here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/678/GB580_USB_DRIVER.zip

If so, you might need to manually set the COM port by going to Configuration > COM port settings and manually select the correct COM port number.

Please let me know if you're still having issues. Thanks

OK, finally got it to work.  Standard Horizon FINALLY gave me the correct info and told me to connect their green wire to ANY 12V ground.  I thought it seemed odd, why would they not have connected this wire inside the unit to a ground but it worked.  I now have GPS info on my VHF.

Hi, and happy new year!  :)

I had this:
window.external.showCoord(lastPoint.lat().toFixed(6), lastPoint.lng().toFixed(6));

I replaced this by that, but an error window is still there...

Regards,

Oh, it happens every time I ride. You can just check whether there are five digits in the distance. For example: XX.XXX If there are 3 digits right of the decimal and 2 to the left, the right most digit will be displayed behind the units(mi for example). It's not a huge deal just seems odd.
Also, once it goes into powersave mode(displays the time) there is no way to get it out except to power it down and then back up.

Instead of turn it off, try to press the enter button together with start/stop button for a while. It works for me when this happens.

Hi,
if the computer recognizes the cable when it is plugged in (have a look at the WIN device-manager for COM-Port number) and the right Com-Port number is selected in Training Gym, the cable seems to be defective. This could happen although charging works.
Best regards

Problem solved.

Replaced 12vdc to 6vdc, with 12vdc to 5vdc converter.

Connected GPS (TX) to Blue on VHS (Input +)
Connected VHS (Input -) to VHS (Output -) *shorted*

It works!

The shorting of the VHS Green and Brown wires was an accident.  But, without them shorted, it doesn't work.
