Solder the tabs.  The antenna is heavy (relatively speaking of course) and as your bike vibrates over bumps, it strains the few joints holding it down.  I soldered the tabs and used a bit of hot glue to fix the antenna to the case.  This will help prevent strain on the solder joints.

My antenna didn't reach the point of rattling, but it flexed so much that it broke the wire joint which prevented the device from satellite locking.

Hi all.

I have not participated in this forum for a long time since I have no issues to report.

Today I've got a question that I've not been able to solve after googling it over the Internet and searching this forum.

The case is that I'm currently using GS-TGS Pro 1.6.10 under Windows 7 and I want to update the training software to v. 2.2.

First of all, Should I do that? since I would pass from a Pro version to a regular one.

Second: How could I backup my training database and restore it into the new version? I've searched the installation folders and there is nothig like MySQL. Instead there are a group of folders and subfolders under my user and, finally, an XML file for each training sortie.

My watch is a GH-625M, although I do not use the heart rate function.

Best regards.

I'm surprised that this post has 100+ views and no replies.  When the 625XT was being developed the USGlobalSat folks were heavily engaged in the 625M forum getting user feedback, etc.  I really liked my GS-Sport watch, but the 625XT is fairly old now.  I'm assuming that US GlobalSat must be getting out of the sportwatch business.  I hope I'm wrong!

I have been using the MR-350P with a precision video time inserter.  The replacement for that, the MR-350P-S4, gives me errors, possibly because the firmware is a new version.  Can the firmware be changed back to the earlier version?

My GB580P also rattles inside. There seems to obviously be a problem. I just opened the case on my unit ant the antenna is not soldered.

Should they be soldered or just glued so it doesn't rattle?

It's probably something very simple, but I don't seem to be able to call up  the compass-screen on my watch.
I have seen it in the past, and I thought it was easily accessed through the PG-button, but it's not there.

Anyone care to help me with this simple question?

Now I can join the group of a ratling GB580B. I have been a happy user since I was chosen as a tester in 2011. Now after the device has begun ratling it also has stopped being able to locate satellites. I guess I will try Rookies method of fixing...

Or maybe GS-globalsat are looking for testers of the GB-1000 device?  ;D

Kind regards?

So I managed to open up the device.
As I stated before, it was the antenna that was loose.
Nothing is holding it up in place so it was rattling in the case.

I just glued it up, problem solve.

I think that you engineer should have known right away that the problem was the antenna.
I told you that it was rattling "at the top of the device", which is where the antenna is.
Opening the case is quite easy, I will redo the silicone joint and close it back up.
Having the antenna rattling like that will, without a doubt, damage the antenna in the long run, so this is a mandatory fix in my opinion.
It is an easy fix and it could prevent other customer to loose there device in the "shippping back for warranty" black hole.
Not mention that, only in this forum thread, we are 3 customers to report this issue, so this should ba a concern.

Having said that, I am still very please with the GPS device!

Attached are the picture where it shows the loose antenna, where I applied some glue and where you have to open up the device.
There is no screws, just a silicon joint

I hope this can help someone else !

Has their been any word on when USGlobalsat will release a new GPS sportswatch?  Back in the day, they (company reps) shared a lot of info on the 625XT development over in the 625m forum.  I really like the GS-Sport products and will need to replace my watch later this year.  Is there anything in the works?
