When using the Push to Fix feature of the EB-3531, the power consumption seems higher than expected during the sleep mode.

I'm using the SirfDemo software to put the module into the SiRF binary mode, then using the "Set Low Power" dialog to enable the Push to Fix mode, with the default time settings. It seems to generally work as expected - first getting a fix, then shutting down for the desired time, and turning back on to reacquire as needed.

However, during the sleep periods, the module is still drawing nearly 9 mA.  This is much higher that the current drawn when the module is shut down using the ON_OFF pin - only about 10 uA.  The module doesn't respond to serial commands during this period, so it certainly seems to be shut down. It seems like the oscillator or the LNA might still be powered. Is there something else that I need to do to ensure that the module completely shuts down during the sleep period?

Based on our engineers' test, they have confirmed that the standard firmware does not support power consumption only about 10uA in the Sleep Mode when using the Push to Fix feature.

The firmware needs to be customized to be able to meet this requirement. This will require NRE or an MOQ of 1000 pieces to make this.

Is there a newer firmware version, or a different module that might work better for this?
