Hi,

Iīm pretty happy with the beta firmware so far. Thinking about it I guess that pace1k might be hard to do - but if you can - even better

One thing I thought about that would really be a great feature:
If you could set a distance (e.g. 42.2 or 21.1 km) and a "target time" like 4 / 2 hours the watch could constantly calculate based on current time and distance if you are doing faster than planned or if you have to speed up to meet your target time.

I think this feature is only available in some rare high end watches and really would make Globalsat stand out.

Hope you can think about that ... thanks for your great support.

Dear customer,

Thanks in advice, this is really a good function for trainer. We will consider to implement this feature in this model.
For further model, we aleady have plan to design in.

Your idea and comments are always driving us progress.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey   :D

Hello,

last four times I used my GH615 with the actual beta-Software for GH625 the shown heartrate ist always 10 to 30 beats higher than my real heartrate, shown paralell on my Polar S810.
The first times I used the new Beta-firmware this problem seems to be solved.
Has anybody the same problem?

No not for me.
Only once has it jumped up to 225, but that within the first 5 min, now i turn it on a couple of minutes ( 5-10) before i use it and use water/spit on the belt.
But I have the GH625, maybe something is different i the watches.

After my last post i went running like you have done Longjog , with my old Polar watch and my GH625 , to check if the heartbeat was the same.

At the beginning it was showing same heartbeat , but when i start running even my Polar went to around 225, had never ever done that before, and my GH 625 followed with similar high rate.

I only used my globalsat-heartbelt, but the thing that caused this can be the noncoded belt, that "leaks and collect" all data that is around it, like now from my old Polar watch.

Well , for 90% of the time it is 100% correct, so not much of a problem.

Hello to all.

I too have tried both the Polar and Gh-625. Already Stationary values were strange, but I verified that the pectoral bands are compatible between the two devide (Polar and Globalsat), then I fear that if these are worn or used simultaneously interfere with each other.
In fact I often use the belt of the polar with the gh-625 and this works perfectly.
I think it is necessary to make a detection instrument with a different technique ... try to compare them with a pressure gauge that detects the heart rate and compare with both instruments.
Try and keep you informed.

Hello again,

after my Polar T31 and T61 (both coded) belts didnīt work well with GH615M (10-30 beats more than in reality while biking or running) I tried an older uncoded Polar-belt. Maybe the battery in this older ting isnīt very good, but the Polar showed the heartbeat correctly and the GH615M didnīt detect the belt at all.
I thought it could have to do with the coding of the signal but I ask myself why the GH615M works fine the first times I used it with the new beta-firmware and now the heartrate is not useable anymore. Maybe it could have to do with the free memory capacity? Or does it have to do with the saving-period? (every second, every 2 seconds ...)?
I have deleted old trackpoints now and Iīm very exited if the heartrate will be correct at my next training.
An other thing I watched yesterday was, the battery was 3/4 full after 2,25 hours jogging with the cardio-mode off. When I activate the cardio-mode, the battery will be empty after 4,5 hours. Could it be the cardio-mode needs much more energy, may be for the new algorithm for heartrate-correction in the new beta-firmware?
I would be happy if you can check this.

I was very happy about implementing my idea to show the AVG HR with the lap-time, but with the extremly wrong heatrate the AVG-HR is also not useful.

so, keep on coocking ::)

Hello
can you send me the new beta firmware for GH-625M?

And i have one suggestion for a new version, if is possibile  :) !
Configure a personal training session, for example:
  • Set 10 min of running
  • Set 3 Min of walking
  • Set 10 min of running
  • Set 3 Min of walking
  • Set 10 min of running
  • Set 3 Min of walking
etc.

In details create a loop for x times (es. 4 or 5 ... times).
I think that this function for the new runners is very important.
Thx Ezio

Dear Longjog

T31 and T61 belt is 5KHz coded belt, I think sometimes GH-615 can receive it due the receiving frequency bandwidth is wide enough to cover the band width, I have tried my self before, it can work even it is coded.

I am pleased to hear your all comments$, no matter positive or negative. It really helps us to improve product a lot, we would like to promote you to our premium member and send you next generation products for your testing if you would like this.

For sure, we will check the AVG HR and battery life and inform you if any further updated.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey  :)

Dear Ezio

Thanks for the useful suggestion.
It is a good idea and I think it is "Muti-Interval Training", right?
We are going to design this feature into our next training watch which is more slim and stylish, and can run as a real watch later than 2 weeks, but we don't have plan to implement into GH-615 since the memory size limition.

For beta firmware, could you send me a email? I will forward to you soon.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey  :)

Interesting news! When will the new watch be released?
Has the GH625 the same memory size limitations?

I'm a german user, and I think the german translation is misleading sometimes. For example 'Pace' is translated in different ways, but I think this is such a established term that it shouldn't be translated.  There are some other points of translation which could be improved too.

Hello again,

two days ago I tested the watch after deleting all activities in the memory. The heartrate was +/- 2 beats next to my Polar S810  :). But after 40 minutes the GH showed up to 10 heartbeats more than the Polar. The heartrate did drift a little bit high and low again when my Polar was nearly steady at 148 bpm. This could be caused by the signal of the belt of corse, but maybe it could also be caused by an algorithm in the GH615. I donīt know this but I have the feeling the last point is right.
I will look if this behavior is reproducible when I go running next time and will inform you.
