Here's some comments about the problem with inaccurate heartrate monitor. Could it be that the problem is with the HRM and not the watch?

When my HRM started to act strangely. The clock started to show show strange measurements just every now and then. By time it got worse. Now it just works sporadicly. Since my HRM isn't working I could send you my HRM if it could be of any help.

Could it be possible to use the HRM without the GPS activated? This would be nice feature when training indoor.

Dear Geoffrey,
will the new Device have a barometric altimeter?
I'd be glad to test new features and device.

A nice feature for the GH625 would be profiles for different Sport types, such as running and biking. So that you can easily switch between different settings for auto-lap, auto-pause, display, etc.

Dear Johan

Thanks for your comments, there is the easy way to clarify the problem:
1. start timer to check HR without belt; it can check the environment noise immunity.
2. check HR with another belt to compare.
According to my experience, it uasualy is belt problem of battery or contact.

We are cooking the indoor training feature and almost finished, please kindly wait.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey

Cadence would be nice. :) Will there be a bike mount as well?

Actually I've changed battery and it didn't work. When I borrow another belt it works perfectly.

Someother data that would be interesting:
Last lap info:
- speed
- pace
- time
- hr
- differance from last lap (speed, pace, distance, time). Could be interesting depending on what you define as lap

Define intervall training
- Start new active lap when hr has reached a certain value. For example I would like my hr to drop below a certain value before I start the next active lap.
- Different time/distance of the laps.

Hi,

I agree that an interval training function would be great - but I would like to see it in different flavors:

a.) Distance interval:
The training changes from one interval to the next depending on the distance reached. E.g. 1km run, 500m walk, 1km run ...

b.) Time interval:
Training style changes depending on time: E.g. 5 min run, 1 min walk, 5min run ...

c.) Speed interval:
Interval changes if average speed of the interval reaches a certain level (needs to be combined with my earlier proposal of having a sliding average of the last 1000m):
E.g. interval changes if average of last 1000m is higher than 10km/h, then changes when falls below 5km, then changes again if again over 10km/h. Instead of speed you could use the pace here obviously to set the borders.

I have a polar watch as well and it implements a.) and b.) but I think c.) would be really unique so far and make a outstanding feature.

Best regards - P-eter Weiss

PS: Somehow the forum does not like my fist name - it always replaces the characters, is this a bad name? :-)

Full Memory
« Reply #38 on: March 30, 2009, 02:17:17 am »

Hello,
while running my last competition, the memory of the Gh625 was full. The watch stopped recording, the timer stopped too.
Certainly, it was my own fault not to check memory capacity and not to clear some older tracks before start. But I think to have an option for automatical overriding older data would be nice in such case. So the memory could work like a circular buffer.

Maybe some kind of warning when you try to start the timer with little or no memory left. I've thought my watch was broken when it suddenly stopped and showed zero during training. Then it wouldn't start again. Finally I realized that the memory could be full. :)

I'm not sure but maybe there is a warning when memory starts getting low.

Dear snow_freak

Thanks for providing information.
For the current scenario in memory full situation, it just stop timer and record.
We will check the circular operation is the whether better for user or not.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey  :)

I think I rather get a warning or the possibility to choose if I want to overwrite old data when the memory is full.

Hi,

I think just overwriting would not be a good choice.

Either make it configurable, so users have to choose between "Overwrite" or "Stop and alarm".

From my point of view the non-overwrite option should be default.

I would not want to loose existing data just because I forget to empty the memory.

My opinion - best regards - P.eter Weiss
