Firmware-Requests
« on: April 30, 2010, 12:26:16 am »

Hello Geoffrey,

my very first impressions what Iīm missing:

1. Possibility to set LAP AVG HR in Custom Lap-Page
2. Possibility to set HR MAX in Cardio-Settings manualy (at the moment 200 bpm is fixed independent of the age. Bug?)

Later more.

Sincerely

Hi Geoffrey,

it seems to be a bug in the Firmwareversion 1.06, F-OHT-DC-1004-231: The Max-HR is not calculated 220-age but always 200 independent from the year of birth. The Max HR canīt be set manually, only 5 individual zones can be set manually. This can be done in % of Max HR or absolute in HR.
It would be fine you have to set the zones in percent of HR max. (or the anaerobic treasure, I would prefer) only one time. When HF max. (or anaerobic treasure) changes, you only have to change this one manually and than the zones in absolute are changed automatically because of the relative setting.

Best regards, have a nice weekend

Hi Longjog,

I think, you are wrong !  There is no bug ! When you go the "Cardio Settings" , the second line
contains the option "Custom" or "Use Max". When you select "Use Max" the zones are calculated according
to the absolute maximum of 200bpm. When you use "Custom", the zones are calculated (somehow) based
on your age.

Hello Hubert,
there is no sense calculating the heartrate zones according to the absolute maximum of the watch. ??? It would have sense, if the zones are calculated on base of the individual max. HR of the athlete.  :)
If you select Custom in the second line, the zones arenīt "calculated (somehow)" like you are writing, but you have to set every single value manually.

The bug is, the max. heartrate didnīt change if you change your year of birth.
Please read the manual, which came on the CD with the watch. Max Heartrate should be calculated 220 - age, but it isnīt.

Happy training-weekend

Hi Longjog !

Yes - you are completely right !  After having a more detailed look at these functions, I agree to
everything you said.
And as Geoffrey already told, that manual HFmax setting will be included, I'm sure that also the zone
calculation will be corrected.
Sorry for my confusion !

Dear all:

We are going to implement manual Max HF and correct 220-Age into next firmware. As well we will improve Avg PACE calculation. Let's step by step to evaluate it.

When you add the manual Max HF into the watch, will it also include an update for GS Gym Pro for configuring this
addtional item ?

Geoffrey,
In addition to Longjogs requests I would like to add my requests to the list:

1. Possibility to set LAP AVG HR in Custom Lap-Page (maybe open up the entire range of LAP features for the custom lap page?)
2. Possibility to set HR MAX in Cardio-Settings manualy
3. Change the size of the lap alert page and increase the font! Page can cover entire screen and font can be at least twice as big.
4. Remove the delay when pressing buttons if this is possible in the software, I like the watch to react instantly to pressing the buttons.
5. Add the interval workout features you developed for the OEM project mentioned in another thread!

Jonas

Hi Jonas,

The first two items will be included, the others we are discussing and think the feasibility. For the last, it will be better to implement when virtual trainer be confirmed.

Tomorrow, the new firmware will be released to your all mail box, please note that.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey ;)

Geoffrey,
I will update watch with the new firmware as soon as I get it in the mail. Will the new firmware include updated Virtual Trainer? I was gong to try VT out today, but there is no point to that if it is changed already.

Jonas

Hi Geoffrey,

when I press LAP, the acoustic signal and the display are delayed. If this is only optical it would be okay. But there is an irritation. It would be better it the signal comes directly with the pressing of the button.

An other point is the (alarm-)signal-situation. The watch is not reacting, when pressing a button (LAP, up, down or Enter) while alarm-signal or LAP-Information is shown in the display.
This is very angrily, for example when you have a continous heartrate-alarm and you only can set a lap-time or stop the time when alarm-window is not shown.
