PPS input through USB
« on: April 30, 2010, 03:20:43 am »

Hi all!

  I have the following problem.
I need to get a 1pps time signal on a netbook running linux.
So essentially I can only use the USB ports. I know the time accuracy of
USB bus can only be 1ms at best, which is fine with me.
I can see that the MR-350P should be what I need. (Linux supported + PPS)
But on the product page it is stated that:
Quote
PPS data will not pass through cable sets
So, is there a way to use this model (or another gps receiver) to get a PPS signal through?

Thank's in advance,
Yiannis

USGlobalSat's MR-350P does support 1PPS (EM-406A) and PPS data should pass thru the cable sets. However, Taiwan GlobalSatís standard MR-350 uses different module (EM-411) and does not support PPS.
