Hello,

I'm waiting for the GH-505 i ordered and just found this forum.

It seems the latest firmware release fixes the display problem, or is it just a temporary fix to extend the display life?
When i get my GH-505, should i immediatly update the firmware to prevent the display problem?
Will i need to return it to exhange the display when the new model is available?

Hi,

Just started to have same issues (dead pixels) - although I used my GH-505 mostly while running and I was powering it off after finished. Sportracks say that i used it for ~600km. I tried to avoid keeping it in watch mode - it spend in that mode maybe 48-72 hours during it's life.

I've tried to update firmware after these pixels showed up, but of course it did not help - as it seems that it is hardware issue...

Could you please advice what should I do? I've bought it on auction service - although I have invoice from company which sold me that device... also I doubt it will be easy to replace by contacting them, also i don't think that there is officiall dealer in Poland...

Today I did 1 hour jog at -15C - and magic - these dead pixels are gone. I wonder how long it will last - but for now I'm happy . While running, GH-505 was mostly showing heart rate at full screen and I've used backlight several times. And here are picures - with dead pixels and with pixels gone.

It is real amazing! I never heard from supplier and it is difficult to reproduce in my side due to it is never so cold. Anyway, please take care your body.

We put 5 pcs with freckles into ice box for 1 hrs under -15 degree C.
Interesting! They were getting improved!

I noticed that a few weeks ago, left the clock at my balkony over night and no black spot visible in the morning.
But they appears again in inside (warmer) condition.

Yesterday, we put other three spot watch into ice box under zero degree, power off ones got recover faster than power on. So I agree that cause by temperature.
So we might call GH-505 as "arctic" watch.

How long was the dead pixel gone after freezing does they return at the old rate or "faster"... I'm wondering If I should stay away from the clock-mode or use it and freeze it when needed.

Do you have any spare display available? I can change that display by myself if you have one for me.
