My GH-505 start to have dead pixels as well. It stated suddenly (after half year usage without this problem) and now it is pretty bad.
I have to freeze it after every training. It is pretty good for while but during longer train (>2h) it become quite bad again and it is very hard to read it.

Have you found solution how to get rid of this problem permanently or is it just hardware (on display itself) problem?

How about this issue, any news regarding it?

Do you have any spare display available? I can change that display by myself if you have one for me.

Rookie

Hi Rookie,

Sorry the problem cause you inconvenience. It is display problem so that we decided to stop production and try to phase in GH-595.
You need a special tool to release the strap, it is recommended sending back to service center for repairment.

Have a nice weekend,

Geoffrey

To be honest, I have been opened it ones before without any special tool and it was quite easy to do by myself. I tried to release and reconnect display ones to make sure that contacts is ok, but bad contacts wasn't cause of display problem in this case.

But if you still recomend to send it to service center for repair, I can do that?

Hallo all,

I just want to give some short feedback...

When talking about the new GH625 XT in another thread, I said:
... I really need a new model, because my GH505, which I like very much,
is having more and more pixels. No problem for "normal" usage, but no fun anymore
with track back.

And I got the answers:
Hubert have tried to put your 505 in the freezer for 24 to 48h? If not try it it might resolve your problem.

Due to display of GH-505 has reliability problem, you have to put into refrigerator over 8 hrs to rescue. ;)

I tried this (first time) form yesterday morning up to now (approx. 30 hours) and surprise:
Really ALL pixels are gone ! There is not even a single dot to be seen. Amazing.  :D

The question is, how long it will last...

Regards, Hubert

Hi Hubert,

Frankly, it should be display problem. We decided to use the new technology, MEMS Miraso display; it seems not perfect. :-[
So we turn back the whole stock to them and stop production. :'(

Sincerely,

Geoffrey
