GH-505 dead - how to recover
« on: October 25, 2010, 01:13:53 am »

I was updating software with latest release (22.10.2010) of firmware and it fals during operation after 23% was done. I have had problems with my USB port on my laptop and maybe it cause thisw failure.

Now situation is quite hopeless from my point of view. I have tried to recovery it by myself without success. Watch does not have anything on display (not even nor give any sounds when pressing buttons.

Can you help me, what I can still try myself?

Hi Rookie,

Did you try POWER+DOWN+ENTER?
For GH-505, there is separate boot loader to avoid updating failed.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey

Hello Rookie,

It sounds stange, we have implemented bootloader as separated ROM and I never find it. Let's try to lay it over night and then charge it even no display. Then try to press "UP+ENTER+POWER" again.
If still failed, maybe the hot key is different for previous firmware. Please send back for our investigation.

Geoffrey

Thanks for your excellent support, I'm happy to hear that device is recovered.

Anyway, it is strange, that I can't do same myself. I tried all you suggested in this thread above but it didn't work to me. Maybe there is serious problem in my laptop USB port ?
