« on: November 14, 2010, 08:50:32 pm »

I have a Macbook Pro OS X.6. Whenever I try to do anything with GlobalSync, It never finishes what its doing. Its been clearing data now for over an hour! It does the same thing when configuring or downloading.

Have it worked before? Or is this your first time using the device with the said program?

Please check your email for the instructions on how to use GlobalSync.

If that program still did not work, you can utilize a program called GPSBabel. Please download it from here: http://www.gpsbabel.org/download.html#downloading

Let me know how it goes.

I have just started using my gps. I want to use it to add gps info to photo meta data and geotaging, and to map bicycle & hiking routes.

I've reviewed the instructions for global sync, and have gotten mixed results. It will download gpx files, but not kml.

I've had better success with gps babel, but I don't understand all of the file choices.  ???

I am getting the information to download, but when I try to open it, my mapping software is greyed out.
I have goggle earth 5.2, garmin mapManager2.1.
Thanks

Check out this site and scroll down a little bit for some compatible software for this device: (http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/62/vista_32bit_gps_info_utility.zip). These programs can be used for photo geotagging, as well a.

Since GlobalSync hasn't been maintained for quite some time, it doesn't have any updated version. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Regarding the file choices, you can find more information about that in the GPSBabel documentation. You can take a look at here: (http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.4.2/gpsbabel-1.4.2.pdf).

We can also recommend another program that can also download the gpx and kml files. It is called loadMyTracks. For more details, refer here: (http://www.usglobalsat.com/compatible_software/macosx_software.html). To download this: http://www.cluetrust.com/Downloads/LoadMyTracks.dmg

Please check your email for instructions on how to use the software.
