To be honest, I think GS is biting off more than it can chew...
It seeme the limited resources are to blame that the existing product portfolio is already slow to hit the market - I eagerly awaited the bicycle computer, but my Christmas money went to another purpose. Technical glitches seem to plague even products that are already on the market (gh505).
Rather than to tacle the market on all fronts and be late to deliver/being unable keep up with the competition, why not focus to pioneer/develop/obtain market leadership in just a few selected?
You can be the best at a few key products, but unless you have very deep pocksts, you can't be good enough in everything when you want to do it all at the same time.

Thanks for advice. It is frank and true.
To take off the glitch problem from GH-505, we are processing the new model, GH-505s. For sure we still mainly focus on our key technology such as SirfIV, new alogrithm on training devices and cycling computer. As our plan, they will be lanuched on Q1, 2011.
To respect customers' demand, just put more features on current/ furture products likes Windsurfing/ Surfing function and keep listening what they need.

Probably to expend more products lines once we got more resources.

Cheers and happy new year.

A good place to read about and get in contact with windsurfers using GPS is http://www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Gps/

The organisation that approves GPS devices for speed measurements and records is GPS Speedsurfing http://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx

A good device to look at is Locosys Genie GT 31 http://www.locosystech.com/product.php?zln=en&id=30. This is the most commonly used device for measuring speed for windsurfers.

This guy has developed a custom firmware specialised on windsurfing for the device http://mtbest.net/setting-up-navi-GT31.htm where I am sure you can draw some conclusions on required features and algoritms etc.

hi folks,

i am all in! i have been using gh 615 with the latest gh 625 firmware for years now. i bought it when i got into kitesurfing course races. check out this thread i started more than a year ago:
http://www.usglobalsat.com/forum/index.php?topic=932.0

right now i use it to record data of course and i analyse later on the computer. if you set some waypoints right you can also, with some practice, estimate your upwind performance.
