Hello,
i've a problem with my new GH-615M!
I've installed the PC Software “GS-Sport Training GYM” Version 1.8 on Vista with the Vista USB driver 3.2.0.0.
The Prolific USB/Comport is installed correctly, but the PC Software says "Device Detection failed. Please check...".
The GH-615M is in DataLinkMode!

Any Ideas?

My "old" firmware is F-0TH-0N-0709031.
The problem is how, to upgrade the firmware, when i can't connect?

It is recommended that you upgrade the firmware by using GH-615 PC SW. It should be no problem.

now I've tried it on a computer with a clean windows xp installation! But also without success.
The usb-cable/device ist detected correctly, but the PC SW can't connect...

For upgrade firmware, please set your watch in Configuration\System uprade to upgrade firmware.

The watch is set to "Configuration\System upgrade" while trying to upgrade the firmware.
The watch is showing:     

                               Update Programm                     Ver. 2.02
                               Connecting .....

                               Press POWER & ESC
                               key to cancel.

Hi Wayne,
what Geoffrey means is, that you can´t update the Firmware with the Software GS-Training-Gym.
Please install the Software GH-615 PC which comes with the watch on the CD. With the GH-615 PC Software it is possible to connect with the PC. When you will have updated the Firmware, you can use the GS Training-Gym Software, Version 1.8, which is not compatible with the old Firmware. This is your problem. You are trying to connect the watch with old firmware and new PC-software.
The watch is very good. I won´t miss it anymore.

Hello Wayne,

In Vista, you may set the compatibility of GH-615 SW run as WindowsXP mode and administrator mode by click right key on SW icon. Because
Vista security will block USB driver to detect COM port. Please check "PC Software Notice for Vista" on our website. http://www.globalsat.com.tw/eng/product_detail2_00000101.htm

That's strange, but it looks like system didn't communicate with watch.
Could you confirm the matel stick of cable be plugged with correct position where the hole at 5 clock direction to connector not screw hole of lower case.
