Will still use the watch and press the lap button each lap so I get lap-times and can somewhat track my speed, but the limit of 64 laps will force me to restart the timing as I plan to run about 300 laps, but that is not that big problem here as I'm mostly interested in my "current" speed.

Don't be worry, you will change rounding direction every 6 hours, it will help a lot to avoid boring on 390m long track 

I'm not participate competition, I'm not rough guy enough for that long races. But I will be online and check race status time to time.

I just want to push for Zingo's idea.

I think it would greatly enhance the actual indoor training mode found on GH watch and compensate for the lack of footpod as seen among other company, while being even more accurate.

So if you know the track length on which you are running and configure the watch accordingly, every time you'll press the lap button it'll show your speed based on the track length you gave.

I think it's that kind of idea (this, and my no GPS rest interval idea... ah ah ) that will help our watch to be distinguished from other watches. In both cases, if one day those features are integrated, be sure that I -and many others- will use them to the bone because of their usefulness!

This is wonderful idea - I love it!

Please implement this for all GS GPS watches if it is possible.

Yes but the only thing is, like I said in my stopwatch gadget thread, I am not sure our watch is meant to handle as many repetitive clics as a real stopwatch can. It would be interesting to know directly from the engineer himself how many clics he expect the lap button can handle during its lifetime.

Adding a stopwatch feature that would result in a decrease of the watch lifespan would not be a wise move from us. You also have to think about the product warranty based on a normal use and based on the watch original functions.

But if the feature is technically viable, I do think we have to go for it!

Hi,

I think it is better to discuss this theme not in the topic "Everything else apart from GPS".

Instead of pushing the button for taking a lap-time it would be nice to have the heart-touch-function we discussed a time ago. With this finction a lap-time is taken by putting the watch next to the heart-rate-monitor just without pushing any button 
Polar has this function in some of their watches.

I got a big surprise during the race some hours into the race a fast finish guy approached me and it was Mr Ultrapetita!!! It was his first 24h he had only runned 100km before and he did relay well, (he dig go much longer then me also !!!

It was very nice to meet you in real life (if running around 390m track inside for hours after hours can be considered as real life...). And you made an excellent result, Congratulations!

As this was my first trial of 24h, I didn't have any targets in mind. Everything over 100k was positive.

After 120k I was ready to give it up and went to my sleeping bag for two hours, but luckily one of my running club mates didn't allow me to continue my "sleep" and I had to continue for the rest 8 hours.

Maybe next time I won't give up due to first signs of tiredness...
