Using the device with Android
« on: February 15, 2011, 02:02:01 pm »

The ND-100 utilizes the Prolific USB drivers, which have been installed in the Linux kernel (Android-based). Unfortunately, we have not tested this unit with Android tablets. In short, there is no guarantee that it will work with its applications.

The tablet should be able to communicate with the device using the following command (on the Terminal):

su root

stty -F /dev/ttyUSB0 ispeed 4800 && cat < /dev/ttyUSB0

There is no guarantee that it will work with the ND-100 since testings have not been performed. You can try and see by following the instructions stated above.

Hi,

could  you please re-compile and provide drivers  for Android devices as external package?
I  thought to use ND-100s   with Toshiba AC100 netbook,  which uses Android 2.2  (somewhat modified, probably)...

Here on driver page:
http://www.prolific.com.tw/eng/downloads.asp?ID=31
it says that
"NOTE: Google Android OS is also based on Linux kernel so it also supports PL2303."

This was the reason I bought  the Nd-100s  but it's not recognized  by Toshiba AC100...

Thank you

You can download it from here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/590/nd-100_linux_usb_driver.rar

Just to let you know that we cannot guarantee its workability since we have not done any tests.
