Compatibility Question for ND100
« on: February 27, 2011, 10:56:56 am »

I am a storm chaser that is looking to get mobile gps on my laptop. There is a big radar gps compatible program out there that is compatible with the gps called grlevel3,you might have heard of this. Well in order for the program to read it right i need to get a special program that is called Franson GpsGate that basically allows the signals to share and work together. It must be NMEA for this to work and this device works with NMEA programs am i correct

Yes, our GPS Receivers outputs NMEA data by default and works with various NMEA-compliant software. Which by the way, what is the operating system of your laptop? Also, did you download the drivers from the CD or from the website? You can download the drivers from here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/s-123-nd-100-support.aspx

Apparently, I'm not familiar with GRLEVEL3. If you're planning to use it with GPSGate, please refer to this site for download: (http://www.laptopgpsworld.com/2531-gpsgate). Also, take a look at its user manual: http://franson.com/gpsgate/GpsGateGuidewinxp200.pdf

To make sure what baud rate to use, look at the back of the packaging and you will see the Baud Rate under Electrical Characteristics. You can also determine the baud rate by the color of its package. If it's yellow, the baud rate that you should use is the 38400, whereas the blue packaging should have a 4800 baud rate.
