Using Navigation on GH-505
« on: May 30, 2011, 06:32:45 am »

hi folks,

as a newby I neet do know something.

in order to find my way out of the woods, I draw a gpx-track(!) with 3rd party tool and successefully managed to open in trainings-gym-pro and succeeded in track-points-data-transmission .

even with the manual I cannot figure out how to use this in the gps-watch like a compass-arrow or a curved line for instance. the watch's firmware is F-GGH-2C-1010221

it seems only recorded or manually added waypoints might be utilized.

thank you for some words,

sascha

Hi sasha,

You mean you can't select your route in navigation menu?

Hello Sascha,

maybe this problem is caused by the Training Gym Pro Software you are using.
I managed to upload the track and see the trackline in GH-505 by using Sporttracks 2.1.
GH-505 has made a Track-Back with 78 Softtrack-Back points out of it. It works very well!

@ Geoffrey: I also tried to import the gpx-file in Training-Gym Pro 1.5.2 but it didnīt work. It wasnīt saved in the database so I canīt select the track in the Training-Data window. But the trackline was shown in the map-window of training-gym-pro.

Best regards

Longjog

okay folks,

i now installed Setup_SportTracks_3.0.4147 plus GlobalsatDevicePlugin-v3.0.3847 and managed to import all my activities from gh-505.

but how to send the track to the device? i cannot find this option in particular - there's no export option.

regards, sascha

btw.: i neither can't upload screenshots to this thread :/

Sorry for the late answer.

Glad you managed to do it!

Like Longjog wrote, use ST 2 instead of 3.

okay guys,

switched from ST3 to ST2, got GlobalsatDevicePlugin-v3.0.3847.st3plugin from gs-sports page, unpacked (with winrar) and stored it into \Sporttracks\Plugins folder, yet no GS-Sports (esp. gh505) device can be chosen as "my device". even though the preferences show a GS Device Plugin...this freaks me out.

suggestions?

I manage to almost get Phils plugin (used to export tracks/waypoints to watch) to work with SportTracks3 I just uploaded the latest version globalsat-export-plugin-v3.0.NNNN.st3plugin here:

https://bitbucket.org/zingo/sporttracks_globalsat_plugin/downloads

Consider it Beta, the export stuff seem to work, the stuff that don't work is showing and editing waypoints on the map.

Nice job Zingo! The main point was to export : showing and editing comes after...

My plan was to release it when I got all stuff working but  if you don't work with waypoints the current beta might do all you need. So why not release a binary...

If I could just figure out why no waypoints show up on the map whatever I try to do, maybe I could get the rest of the stuff working...

I hope you'll do it. It's one of the reason I still use ST2 instead of ST3.

But I must admit I am more and more using Training gym pro...  8)

@all thank you very much!

i finally made it using canadien's plugin and SP3! now i have one program, monitoring all my activities using two GPS devices: GS&G****N

cheers!

sascha

ps.: i almost forgot one curcial thing: above i was always looking in the wrong GH505-menue-entry. "navigation" lead to nothing, tracing back an uploaded route as "acvitiy" hit it!
