can MR-350 take 12V as power
« on: October 20, 2011, 12:01:18 pm »

I know the MR-350 is specified as 5V.  I wish to replace a gps receiver which sends NMEA but is supplied 12V.  It's OK for my
application if the MR-350 sends higher than 5V NMEA code as a result of higher power supply.

Essentially, the question is if the MR-350 would get damaged, or not function properly, with a 12V source.

Indeed, the MR-350 would get damaged if it's used with a 12V source. Perhaps, you can search online for a voltage regulator that will regulate the voltage.

Let us know if you have any questions.
