I haven't been able to use the BU 353 with Topo North America 9.0.  Any help would be appreciated.

Is this a NMEA-compliant software? Can you please check with the manufacturer? You can contact them either by sending them an email or calling their contact number.

The software offers options for NMEA, Garmin NMEA with waypoints and Garmin NMEA without waypoints.

You can possibly select NMEA, since this is the default protocol for the BU-353. Just make sure that you have the proper driver installed, which you can download from here: (http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/62/windows_allinone_usb_driver_v130.zip).  Make sure to extract the file and install the exe file.

It should be noted that DeLorme is now selling the BU 353 (III) with their software.  It is recognized by Topo NA 9.0.

Regarding Delorme Topo North America 9.0, we have already included this program in our Suggested Software list. Please take a look here: (http://www.usglobalsat.com/s-161-suggested-software.aspx). End-users should be able to use the BU-353 with this program since it's NMEA-compliant. Thanks.
