nd-100 thinks it's a mouse
« on: June 12, 2012, 05:32:49 am »

Hi.
Thought I sorted this with the aid of the forum some time ago but the problem has reappeared - the GPS thinks it's a mouse.  If I remember correctly, it required a different version of the prolific usb to com software.  Could someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks

First, you need to uninstall the previous driver. In order to do this, go to Control Panel > Programs. Scroll down the list of the programs and look out for the the PL2303 USB-to-Serial. Highlight the said driver and click Uninstall. Once the driver is removed, turn off your computer and wait for a few minutes. Power up your computer and download this driver: (http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/590/windows_allinone_usb_driver_v130.zip). Make sure to extract the file first before installing the driver.

Sorry, but the suggested solution does not work - the computer still thinks the GPS is a mouse.

I seem to remember that the solution last time was a special version of the driver installation package with different registry settings.  There was some warning about only using it if no other solution to the problem.

Any more help you can give me?  I know we sorted the problem last time!

Thanks

Hi again

Tried the registry edit fix suggested by the Xport web site and it seems to have solved the problem.

I'll post again if the fix does not work long term.

Thanks
