I am really excited about my new GB-580P. I used to have the Garmin Edge 500, but was looking for something better and more reliable.

This is the version I have:



What I would like to see in a future firmware release compared to v1.02 F-GGB-2O-1201051:

• Creating custom routes with tools like bikeroutetoaster.com, gpsies.com etcetera and upload them to the GB-580P
• Extract route from activity
• Possibility to turn off screens, I don't need 5 different screens, too much information during my ride
• Renaming activities on the device or in Training Gym Pro, date and time only can be a bit confusing. This is not necessary if it is possible to upload routes with a name.
• Add heading direction to selectable fields in screens
• Higher resolution in the wheel circumference setting when using the inch/miles. You need something like 82.56 inches for 2097mm. Either leave the wheel setting in mm or allow 2 decimals of precision (by foo_fighter)
• Add 2 selectable fields to map screen, for example speed, cadence, remaining total distance etcetera
• Increase the font size of the zoom level in the map, it is very hard to see
• In navigation map there is a big black line going back to the start, please make this a subtle dashed line
• Increase the max number of points during optimization of the track. The GB-580 optimizes a track with a max of 200 points. This is enough detail for a track of aprox. 120 kilometer (75 miles) but many of us make rides of more than 240 km or 150 miles.
• Allow different sensor combinations for multiple bikes (by foo_fighter)
• Mass storage mode when connecting unit to pc, for the linux users (by Jorma7)

Any other suggestions for the next firmware release? I will summarize them and put them in this opening topic. Please note only feature requests for the firmware, not for Training Gym Pro etc

The globalsat plugin for sport tracks will do screen shots(saves in bmp). It's pretty nice. I use it to save the summary screen of each ride.

First gb580 firmwares did not shown user path in map mode: only the recorded route.
So I would like to make an update at the end of my video here:

Another feature request:

For sensors, when I select speed/cadence it then does not allow me to select speed or cadence for the other sensors and vice versa. I have multiple bikes, some with the combined speed/cadence and some with separate sensors. Can the firmware be modified to allow any combination so I don't have to re-program everytime?

If not, can it at least remember which bike has what combo? For example bike 1 and 2 has the speed/cadence and bike 5 has separate speed and candence and when I select bike 5 it switches the sensor setting appropriately?
