When connecting, it appears as mass storage? It would be good to go well, Linux users would use it for activities and courses. It is the way to avoid problems.

Can you please provide more details about this mass storage in Linux? Perhaps, include some links or references of how it can be implemented.

Simply by connecting displays a mass storage device such as a pen drive. Through the file browser, you can enter courses, or extract activities to feed into your favorite activities manager.
Here we show an example in Ubuntu with a Garmin in the activities folder.

It is before Tech4 found some ports usable to communicate with mac platform.

Even if it is appreciate I think someone can manage to find port on gb580 to communicate directly on linux as well. If not there is always Zingo's sporttracks solution like he's reminding here:

Thanks for providing the screenshot and further information, as well as including forum postings, about the mass storage in Linux. After skimming through those postings, (please correct me if I'm wrong), it seems that there is no driver needed if we implement the mass storage function in the GB-580P.

I will go ahead and check with our engineer about this.

The theme of SportTracks is good idea, but there are many activities program managers. to through mass storage access to the folder of activities and courses would make it compatible with all programs.

Thanks for that additional suggestion. Perhaps, this could be implemented in the next release or so.

I am a new user of the GB 580P. Unfortunately I only use Linux (Ubuntu). Is there any way I can use this device on Linux as of now? And in what version will my cycling data be saved in the device? Will I be able to export it to Training Peaks through Linux?

Unfortunately, there is no Linux version of the Training Gym Pro as it's only compatible with Windows OS. However, you can take a look at a third-party application, called SportTracks, that you can possibly used with the GB-580.
