Interval training stability - Resolved!!!!
« on: July 18, 2012, 02:28:17 pm »

I did not really used the interval training like I did with 625M beta firmware.

However, after having heard someone who had his watch unexpectedly shutting down during workout, I decided to give it a try with 625xt.

Results? At a moment or the other on a 16 Intervals series, the watch was abruptly turning off.

My hypothesis are:

or
#1
Intervals function is not stable and should be revise.

or
#2
Hardware. As most of us realized, watch should be "pre-used" in the manufacture before being selling out. Cause when new, the watch tend to be unstable (many experienced this). And this instability (related to memory?) seems to decrease and disappear with the watch utilization. I had strange behavior myself and it all disappear after 2 or 3 months of use. So could it be that the interval training have to be used quite a few time before becoming more stable??? In any case it is not normal.

----------

I do think Virtual trainer problem and Interval training should be the #1 watch priority. Not because of a personal wish, but rather because it is the main caracteristic that differentiate the watch among others on the market from being a simple logger or tracker.

-------------

When you do your interval and return to the user page setting, the Rest time does not display (when you enable it in ->configuration -> user page setting).

----------

In 625M interval training beta, we could name or edit the name of our interval workout when creating it. We should be able to do the same in 625xt cause right now we don't.

Cheers,

canadien

I fully agree.

Also, sorry if I repeat myself, in the interval training is currently not possible to make an interval based on speed/time.

Yes but I removed my post. There is one firmware in testing right now but it cannot be share at this stade. It seems that it does resolve that issue. But we will only be able to try
it when its release will be official. The sooner the better... :-)

Hello WincenT,

Quote
There is not yet speed/time interval like there was on the 625m firmware but since it is more stable I suppose it will be easier to bring it.

In order to clearly understand this statement, can you please provide some examples or pictures?

Well I am not sure anymore if it was existing on 625m beta. Maybe I am mistaken with Hear rate intervals.

Anyway, how do you see it Wincent: like run-distance or run-time interval but with speed alarm?

Yes!!!!
Something like this:

...with alarm when you exit from the speed-range.
