You need to uninstall this virus if the GPSInfo utility is showing 'Com Port Error' message. Even though the latest driver is properly installed and is showing up in the Device Manager (you may have tried other things as well such as plugging in the device to different USB ports, uninstalling and reinstalling drivers, or restarting the computer), this somehow blocks the com ports from being used or detected by a program.
