Buy Cadence Sensor Magnet
« on: November 05, 2012, 09:05:16 am »

Hello, I have lost the magnet from cadence sensor and I want a new one.
Please someone can tell me where can I find it?
I'm from Spain.
Can I use any magnet to make it work?
Thanks,
Kim

Just wondering, are you referring to the Battery as indicated in the image below?

If you live in Europe Union, you can possibly contact Longjog about the battery here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=1593

If that is not the item you're referring to, can you please provide a picture of it? Thanks.

Got it and thanks for providing the image and clearing it up. I believe you're referring to this item below:

If so, how many are you looking for?

Yes, is the black piece in your image.

The metal one is the magnet for speed sensor, isn't it?

Well, right now I need one refill for black magnet but depending on the price maybe I will buy a pair of it and maybe a pair of the speed sensor magnet to have refill in case that I lose it...

Thanks for confirming. And yes, the metal one is the magnet for the Speed Sensor.

After checking and looking around, unfortunately, we do not have any extra pieces in stock of these magnets. In other words, we don't have any inventory of these items.

Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for understanding.

Good question. I believe you can use any magnet, but let me check with our engineers to confirm.

Hello Kismo,

If the magnet is strong enough, Yes! Otherwise you need to put the cadence sensor to close to the bracket.

Sorry for the delay. After checking with our engineers, we do not manufacture the magnets for the Cadence and Speed Sensor. Also, the specs for these magnets are not available.

However, you could follow Albert's suggestion as an alternative and make sure the magnet is strong enough to attract the cadence/speed sensor.

Hi Kismo,

Instead of using the supplied magnet and holder, I used two disc-shaped (10mm diameter, 3mm thick) rare earth magnets which affix themselves to the inner portion of the pedal spindle (probably won't work if you're using titanium or stainless pedals). It's a much cleaner look (no cable ties required) and it works like a charm.

Hello ten B,

As kimso stated, can you please provide some pictures/images on what it looks and on how you have them setup on your bike?
Also, can you let us know where to buy these rare earth magnets as well?

Hello Rookie,

Thanks for providing that link. This will give some ideas to the forum members on what magnets they can use.

Thanks.
