Dear Sascha

I did pass your questions to our software engineer
but they have few questions below:

1. The screen cut picture is from sport tracks ? (below)

2. You want to our engineer add this feature (source code) to our Training Gym Pro software ?

Thank you and have a nice day :)

Best Regards,
Angela

Yes, it is an AMD processor.  So, not only am I up a creek because I'm a Mac user, the Windows PC I bought my wife won't work because its an AMD processor?...  To be frank, I think the software techs should take some time and go back to the basics instead of worrying about the upgrades.  If a customer can't do a basic update because their computer doesn't fit ONE design standard it leaves a lot of customers in the cold.  I don't mean to sound bitter but it is frustrating when you purchase something that doesn't mention all these restrictions or problems prior to purchasing.

Dear RochesterMTB

i will pass your problem to our engineer
and i will let you know if any update

sorry for any inconvenient :(

Thank you and have a nice day :)

Best Regards,
Angela

I'm having some major issues with the firmware update.  I've been on v1.0 for some time now as I didn't have access to a windows computer till now.  I finally got the Sport Training Gym to work and decided to update the firmware.  The update process % keeps getting stuck in the low teens only once did it hit 52% and a couple times I got to 24% and the had to hit update again.  I don't want to unplug it from the PC or shut it down as I don't think it would make a good paperweight but I don't know what else to do?

I've tried every firmware update many many times.  Process bar freezes in the low percent range. "Firmware update failed"
Running Windows 7

Please help

Never mind, after a good 8+hrs of consistently hitting the update button it finally took at 2am.  I have to say, if this update process doesn't get fixed I'll never go through it again...  I don't care what features you add.  Getting the update process to go more smoothly should be priority #1.

I am using win 7, but in the past I hat those problems. It looks very much to be a problem if you processor is an AMD. Now I have a INTEL and with no updates of all devices giving me a problem. Can you confirm what you are using?

Regards,

Albert

Dear Albert

Do you mean if you use AMD Processor to update FW will get Failed but INTEL can update FW succeed ??
please tell us more detail ~

Thank you and have a nice day :)

Angela

wow, three topics in one thread, great!

dear angela,

1) yes it is sport tracks, no matter which software i use, the device ITSELF displays values of no practical use. if these values were averaged (firmware, customer specified interval or at least 5secs), any analysis-software would automatically be fixed too.

2) training gym pro is already capable to display graphs like that. if 1) would be fixed, everything would be fine.

PLUS: clock as page-field option. (during training i never know what time it unless i dont hit buttons several times)

glad you take care for it.

sincerely, sascha

It gives problems if you using AMD, not always and not with every device, but with INTEL you don't get it.

It is maybe an idea to set recording data (IN DEVICE) to 12 sec. Go to [MENU]--> [ACTIVITY]-->[SETTINGS]-->[DATA RECORD]--> [CUSTOM TIME]--> EVERY ....

Success!!

OK I will be more specific:
GH561 update failed always on my AMD computers (3), at work (intel) it worked in one go
GH625M update will fail many times, but after many attempts it worked.
GB580P  update works better, but not in one time
GH625XT update problems same as GH625M

dear albert,

thank you, i suppose this actually should not be of great benefit omitting some data in between. in this case the minute the device writes, either a peak or a bottom value must be stored then though. okay, the GRAPH smoothens only because of wider stepsize. 5s-averaging should not happen. today i borrow an edge 500 to deal with a comparison soon.

all i'm talking about could be implemented in the following manner

btw. what's here not be seen, there's also 30s averaging, dunno if it's really necessary

One PC died, the other is AMD Turion 64X2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1.90 GHz

The other was a desktop with AMD 32 bit technology. Best to try the GH561, this was the hardest to upgrade (impossible)

Dear Sascha

I am so sorry that i still confuse your questions 1) ,you said "device ITSELF display values of no practical use"
can you screen cut that display for me??

by the way,I will try my best to pass your suggestion about add clock to page-field option to our engineer

Thank you and have a nice weekend :)

dear angela,

an oscillation problem of a power-value due to lack of averaging, cannot simply pictured in a static photograph. imagine you constantly(!) cycle a plain road and each time you watch at the gb580 you see a totally diffrent value e.g. deviations of about 80w.

your legs twist the crank and of course there is a minimum and a maximum of force in each push/ pull of your legs. the minute the 580 measueres, the min, max or any mean value is being displayed.

i'm convinced if you'd pass the engineers simply a request do add literally the feature of "temporary averaging for the powervalue about 3 and 30s as pagefield (permanent averaging of previous n seconds)" they must precisely know what is being meant as well as the reason why. i'm sure TIMEX would be thankful for this improvement as well.

i hope this makes sense.

thx+love,

sascha
