Cannot get a GPS fix
« on: December 19, 2012, 02:49:19 pm »

Sometimes, the device stores "bad" GPS data and it is unable to find a fix, until you perform a Cold Start. This will clear that "bad" GPS data. Basically, it's not a common occurrence, so there is no need to worry about this happening again.

I am experiencing the no fix situation quite often, the unit works flawlessly for days, but when turned off the next time it is turned on it may have a no fix situation, not always and most of time it comes on and has a fix very rapidly; it is always resolved by opening GPSinfo and using a cold start.  I use the bu353-s4 for marine navigation and wonder if it is defective or will go into a no fix situation permanently at some point...thanks, George, catamaran 'Grace'
