I'm darned disappointed in this product.  Yes old windows 7 style desktop apps that leverage serial port connections will continue to work on windows 8.  But that is not what anyone means by Windows 8 compatible.  To say one is windows 8 compatible one has to work with windows 8 style apps (AKA Metro).  As this device does not appear as a sensor that pretty much means it is junk on Windows 8 IMO.

And I don't think installing some hack of a freeware GPS serial to sensor driver is a good solution.

Please add native sensor drivers. Please cease saying this is windows 8 compatible - it isn't, it may work on Windows 8 in legacy desktop but that's it
