I would like to connect the BR-355 to a Standard Horizon Eclipse GX1200 VHF radio. I have already connected the 355 to a 12VDC to 6VDC converter. The 355 light flashed red off and on indicating it is connected to sats. However, when I connect the TX (Green) and RX (White) to various wires of the VHF, it won't display the coordinates. Below are the pinouts of the VHF. Can anyone help me with the correct connections?
Blue - NMEA GPS Input (+) Connect to NMEA (+) output of GPS
Green - NMEA GPS Input (-) Connect to NMEA (-) output of common graound of GPS
Gray - NMEA DSC Output (+) Connect to NMEA (+) input of GPS
Brown - NMEA DSC Output (-) Connect to NMEA (-) input of GPS
It also goes on to say:
"Some GPS chart plotters have a single wire for NMEA signal ground. In such a case connect the NMEA input (-) to the GPS chart plotter's single NMEA signal ground wire, and leave the NMEA output (-) open. In case the assignment of the power supply and ground of ta GPS chart plotter to be used is different from that of the radio, connect the signal ground wire of the GPS chart plotter to the ground terminal (GND) on the rear panel of the radio."
