EM-411 miliseconds??
« on: June 30, 2013, 03:51:57 am »

Hello folks  ;)

I have an EM-411 and I reiceve all output messages in this form:

$GPGGA,002153.000,3342.6618,N,11751.3858,W,1,10,1.2,27.0,M,-34.2,M,,0000*5E

If the time field its hhmmss.sss why its just zeros always? Can I make the output message more than one per second (I don't think so because I saw all over the NMEA manual and its just say 1-255 seconds), but there's any trick?

So I'm interfacing this GPS module with an Arduino board just to make an app with an Arduino that needs a precision clock, I know that GPS communications must be very synchronized like 1 microsecond to GPS time or so.

  • how I can see the clock at least at each millisecond?
  • how I know that I receive the message at exactly in the begining of each second if the field its always hhmmss.000?

Regards,

Dear

Our engineer said because your GPS Module is StarIII,
so the time field is zeros always and you can't make output message more that one per second either~

Thank you and have a nice day :)

Dear

Unfortunately, we don't know which is the accuracy time in the output messages and GPS atomic clock  :(

if you really need to know accuracy time, our engineer suggest you to purchase 1pps module to count accuracy time~~

Thank you and have a nice weekend :)

Thanks again for the answer

Another thing I notice it's if I set any message to 0-99 seconds output rate its okay.

Otherwise if I set to anything with more than 2 digits (100 for example), it don't output anything..

Isn't supposed to show in a range of 0-255?

Regards

Yes, my bad!

Forgot to make a variable with one more character than I had.

Thanks
