Data Log with BU-353 in Windows 7
« on: May 16, 2013, 11:54:14 am »

Hi, I would like to use my BU-353 to make a log of data being output from the device. Essentially I just want to create a log file of some sort that records the data each second so that it can later be used. Currently, I only have it working GPS navigation softwares in real time but I have not been able to figure out how to use it for a data log file. The final intent would be to use that data log file to overlay the information on a video. But that is secondary at the moment. Any idea how to create a data log?

Hi Rduncan,

One way to accomplish that would be by using software such as GPS Gate (use the free version).

rduncan5678,

Here is a software tool that you can use to log your data from your device and save it to your desktop as a NMEA file or as a KML file. Then use the files on Google earth or other programs to look over your routes and patterns. http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/590/nd-100_gps_test_setup.zip. it's for the ND100S but it works for all of USGlobalSat serial and USB devices as a data logger.
