Albert

Welcome! Albert!
We will inform you if you are the lucky memeber.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey  ;)

Hello Geoffrey,

To get misunderstanding out the way, I am only interested in GH 561, to test, that one is, I think, very useful to test on a bike. The others are more for hiking/walking.

Best regards,

Albert

Hi Albert,

Please don't heasitate to provide your idea for us!
Maybe you still be a lucky member to get GH-505! ;)

Geoffrey

Hi,

I'm intrested to test comming multisport watch GH-505, probably you still need one?

I doing triathlon and at winter time also cross country skiing.
I'm currently using GH-615 with GH-625 fw but it don't fully meet my requirements of HRM watch, so I'm more than intrested about your comming products.

What I like to have (my wishes) in new generation sport watch is:
-usability in swimming (means water proof and hrm measurement under water)
-cadence meter
-virtual partner
-much more laps than current sport watches
-goog battery life, also in minus degrees temperatures
-easy to split triathlon competition sport by sport by manual lap
-smaler size than GH-615
-standard usb connectivity and located it side of watch for easier external battery connection during long training
-and latest my favorite wish  ;D Lap count by direction change. That means watch will count laps/distance when I swim in swimming pool and would add one lap after every turn. This is already done by specified swim distance counter, mayby this could be build in watch also?

Probably those are too optimistic wishes and they comming too late, but I still like to share those for you.

But if those wasn't tricky enough, I can try to find some more wishes... ;)

Hi Rooki!

Thanks for interest on our new product! Of course, most of features should be meet your requirment;

Here is my comment regarding your questions:

Quote
-usability in swimming (means water proof and hrm measurement under water)
Yes, it supports swimming.
Quote
-cadence meter
-virtual partner
Of course it can do.
Quote
-much more laps than current sport watches
Total 6400 laps to share for each training files.

Quote
-easy to split triathlon competition sport by sport by manual lap
Sure, it can do it.
Quote
-smaler size than GH-615
It is smaller than GH-615.
Quote
-standard usb connectivity and located it side of watch for easier external battery connection during long training
We use USB clip and 9-10 hrs for taining. Watch mode can use up to 1week.
Quote
-and latest my favorite wish   Lap count by direction change. That means watch will count laps/distance when I swim in swimming pool and would add one lap after every turn. This is already done by specified swim distance counter, mayby this could be build in watch also?
It can be peformed by AUTO LAP function but needs in 3D fix.
We also suppot in-door training but you need to lap manually.

Please share me more information and let Globalsat makes your wish come true.

Have a nice day,

Geoffrey

Hi again,

Lap count in indoor swimming pool is not able to use GPS fix, so compass based solution would be better. I think it is used for example in pool-mate http://www.swimovate.com/poolmate.html as well.

One additional nice feature would be a possibility to manage all device setting from PC application as well.

I'll keep on channel and let you know if I have other ideas.

Hi Rookie,

I can't open the web link, maybe will try next time.

Of course, software can configure watch and save the configuration as a file.

Sincerely,

Geoffrey :)

I'm happy to see that now you have some specs about GH-505 on your product site.
Size looks good and many other specs as well.  8)

But, few things I wondering:
-GPS battery life seems be same as in 615 and 625
-Display size. Maybe there is error in width (25.09 x 18.82 (H x W in mm.))
-There is not any talk about HRM things

Probably you will add more details later...

I can't wait until we got full details of this new product, maybe manual is comming soon... ::)

Hi Rooki,

Thanks for your detail check and interest on our product.
About HRM, we use 2.4GHz ANT protocol likes Garmin uses.
It is able to adapt to the accessories which use the same protocol likes cadence/ speed sensors, so you also will have a fun in cycling.
For sure, GH-505 has in-door training feature, so that there will be much fun even without GPS.

p.s. The HRM is also compatible to Garmin series.  ;D

Sincerely,

Geoffrey

I afraid that 2.4GHz ANT besed HRM does not work under water, hopefully I am wrong.

Just normal swimming.

But HRM point of view it doesn't make difference between swimming and diving. I think that signal have to go as long distance through water (from HRM belt to watch) in both cases?

But mayby my fearing is not relevant.

Hello Rooki,

The belt mention it is 10m water resistance.
Perhaps it needs to try. Right now it is cold, looking forward spring coming. :)
