The first installation is succesfull and data can be imported from my device , rerun of the application failed as I receive the message ( in german )
that the database is not ready and the access to DBCON/conn.txt is denied.I tried several times to remove and re-install the software with the same symptoms.
I'm running VISTA 64Bit with NET.framework latest version 3.5 .
My device ( tchibo probably GH625 ) has the following description :
 ° Pulsmessuhr mit GPS , Type TCM256813 , Version F-OGH-2A-0812121 Version 1.01

Does somebody have a idea how I can fix it ?

Please try to type "net start mysql1" from command line.
If the service name is not valid, please enter application folder "\GS-Sport Training Gym \MySQL\bin>" and copy below command and execute.
mysqld-nt --install MySQL1 --defaults-file="C:\Program Files\GlobalSat Technology\GS-Sport Training Gym\MySQL\my2.ini"

,and then run the application agin.

I'm getting a similar problem with the database not being 'ready'. If I call 'net start mysql1' from the command line, I get the message 'System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied'. What's the problem? It was working yesterday.

As an aside I have to ask why you are even using MySQL here at all, and especially why you're installing a system service? You surely want a simple embedded SQL database here, something like SQLite, which would seem to me to be a much better choice.

Incidentally, when I go into the MySQL bin directory and attempt to start the server manually from the command line, I get the following, which suggests some 'debris' from another installation:

On the right side of the screen the transferred data is seen but I receive the error on a unecpted error and the program abort.

At the moment no way to continue downloading and analyse my data as the program abort.

Dear Customer,

Please try to input "mysqld --install mysql1", it will find the ini file automatically.
Before start the service form command line, please check if you have admin privileges and UAC status(on/off).
There is an issue due to UAC would not allow service to be started via command line if it is enable. If so the system will also show 'System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied'denied'.

please check if you have admin privileges and UAC status(on/off).
There is an issue due to UAC would not allow service to be started via command line if it is enable. If so the system will also show 'System error 5 has occurred. Access is denied'denied'.

Thanks for this suggestion. I disabled UAC and now it works OK. Could you please treat this as a bug to be fixed, though? Getting people to substantially lower the security on their computers in order to run this piece of software isn't a good idea, especially as there should be no real reason why Administrator privileges are required in the first place. As I mentioned above, surely you should be using some embedded database and not trying to install a system service. SQLite is very popular (and free) for such uses, but you could even stick with MySQL and use the embedded version.
