in testing that the dongle is working by using the minicdu program

and after adjusting the com and baudrate to 4800

then pressing connect

the software detects signal from dongle and the right windows start to write scrolling text
but

the left window which contain small box written above it fixmode shows (invalid) text

now it is connected

You need to take the ND-100 outside with a clear view of the sky. Moreover, use the provided USB extension cable to extend the receiver away from the host device.

One quick question, what is the status of the LED? Is it off, steady on, or is it blinking?

Open up the MiniCDU program. Select the designated com port and proper baud rate. Press Connect. Check the Fix section to see if you're still getting the 'Invalid' results.

You can also perform the Cold Start process. Under the TTFF Test section, choose the Cold Start option (if it's not selected) and press Start. Wait for a few minutes and observe the Fix section.

As for the firmware update, just keep disconnecting and plugging in the ND-100 until you manage to update the firmware. By the way, where did you download the firmware update from?

I went to com port  in device manager and adjusted to 38400
then tried again and now it is working...

I also tried it through garmin mobilepc.. now it is working good.

I will try to do the same procedure of baudrate adjustment in the labtop and see what happen

By the way, does your ND-100 came in with a yellow or blue packaging?

it is working in the desktop computer, but not working in labtop computer even after I do the same steps

and it is comming with I think blue package with no cd with it, from maplin uk

I went to the url you mentioned , downloaded the software, updated the firmware again from the url mentioned, now still invalid and date 2080

and the dongle light is blue continuous not flashing. on both desktop and labtop
and receiving data but  invalid fix and invalid mode

no I am not able to even make it respond to minicdu program and even give invalid fix

although it is giving ok of firmware download

I even downloaded windows 7 driver and did install windows 7 .. but also not responding

Try testing it with the GPSInfo program. You can download it from here: http://www.usglobalsat.com/store/download/62/vista_32bit_gps_info_utility.zip

Select the assigned com port and choose the proper baud rate. Click on Start GPS and let it run.

Let me know how it goes.

Also, reinstall the Windows 7 driver. Uninstall it first and install the driver again.

lot of drivers
lot of firmware

and dongle is not giving a sign of response after last update, now not flashing
just only recognized as prolific com X and no single or even invalid response... !!

Have you tried using the GPSInfo Program? Please follow the steps I stated earlier. Then, let me know how it goes.

or minicdu ( just connecting ) and nothing else

always blue light not flashing

but no satellite signal or any data received

I think it is firmware problem

but not able to update it again.
